Viruses

Ever since the the evolution of the first home computer some bright intelligent person decided the world could benefiit from some code that could do varying degrees of damage to a computer. Later these snippets of code became know as viruses. And as we all know this has become a billion dollar industry.

However clever or worldly wise you think you are it would be extremely foolish not to have some form of protection against these threats, and somewhere along the line you will almost certainly pay for it. And you are almost guarenteed to pay for it if you do not have any protection.

Removal

Depending on how badly infected your system is will determine how long and if your system can be cleaned up effectively. The authors of viruses, spyware and malware are deploying more and more sophisticated techniques in their attempts to attack your computer.

I use a number of software tools which largely run unattended to clean up and remove instances of viruses, spyware and other malware.

If you make the effort in the first place to minimise your vunerabilty and therefore minimise the risk of such attacks you will be spared the pain of either fixing the problem yourself or paying a professional to do it.
