Small Businesses often need more specialist services especially as their network and dependancy on IT grows. In most cases small businesses cannot afford a dedicated IT department or person to look after the IT side of the business. Therefore they become reliant on individuals who have limited IT skills and knowledge relying on their goodwill to fufil a dual role. The main problem here is that the person relied on would be better off focusing on doing the job they were originally employed to do (and therefore probably earning or even saving the company money) whilst the IT needs are addressed by professionals with the requisite skills and experience.
